You Are So Loved

By:  Mission Team September 3, 2021

“Yet I live, no longer I, but Christ lives in me; insofar as I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God who has loved me and given himself up for me.” - Galatians 2:20

I related this verse to my life because I have lived in the world for the past 18-20 years. But I now know what I need to do and have been shown a different way by the experiences I have gone through, a way I knew but didn’t practice and was lukewarm in. I am being called to live not of the world or my old ways but in a new way, by letting Christ fill me and use me - something I started asking Him to do when I pray my morning offering. I need to put God first. Christ died for me, so I need to be grateful and live my life to the best of my abilities. Not to hate it but offer it up. I need to sacrifice and give myself up for others, especially people to whom I am close.

Psalm 86:15 says, “But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in mercy and truth.” In this verse, I was reminded that God is merciful and will forgive my sins and shortcomings if I am sorry. If He is willing to forgive, then I need to forgive myself and not be so hard on myself. It also reminds me that God will always speak truth to me, whether through someone or something or sometimes maybe more directly. He will always tell me the truth against the lies that I believe.

“Give thanks to the Lord, who is good, his mercy endures forever.” - 1 Chronicles 16: 34 In all things, give thanks to God. Always have a grateful heart. Do not just ask for needs and wants. God’s love will never go away. Proverbs 8:17 states, “Those who love me I also love, and those who seek me find me.” If I strive to know God and do His will, and to improve my relationship with Him, He will honor that and bring good from it. He will reward my efforts.

Always persevere in pursuing God and taking time for Him. “When you call me, and come and pray to me, I will listen to you. When you look for me, you will find me. Yes, when you seek me with all your heart, I will let you find me - oracle of the Lord - and I will change your lot.” - Jeremiah 29:11-14 This reiterates to me that I need to be diligent in searching for God. That if I make it my mission in life to seek Him and do His will, He will reward that and help me. That it is not impossible.

Why do I share this with you? I share this with you because if you are like me, you struggle to know that you are loved and to love yourself. I share this with you in the hope that you will know the truth about yourself: that you are loved unconditionally by your God and are worthy of that love.
