In the Arms of the Father

Father, I am falling on my knees, asking if You still care, asking if You will hold me, through this painful year. I am crying out to You with so many tears. Father, will You hear my prayer?

And You said…

My child, I’m running to you with arms open wide. Child, I’m going to hold you, through this painful time. And child, I’m right here for you. I’ll never leave your side. My child I still love you, and tell you every night...

These verses go through my mind often when I am struggling. But why do I keep coming back to these words? I think it is because I just want someone to hold me and be there with me when I am struggling, but I don’t know how to communicate that. I just want someone to listen to me pour out my heart and cry. And deep down I know that there is someone that will be there for me and let me do just that, and no matter the day or the time: God.

I can’t tell you how many times I have gone to the Chapel and just fallen in front of the Tabernacle. And I just cry. Everything seems so hard. Life just won’t let up. I don’t know how to deal with it.

2020 was a rough time for me, more than just the normal Covid-19 stuff that went on. In two and a half months, I lost two relatives to cancer. One I didn’t get to see before she died because of Covid-19. The other one I got to visit but then I had to leave, and she passed while I was away.

I have since realized, even while just writing this blog, that there is not much people can do to help relieve the pain that death brings. But God will be there with me through it. He has been here with me through all of it, every step of the way.

I believe that He is in Heaven, looking at us and saying, “My child, I’m here for you. You are not alone. I’m going to dry your tears, just hold on. It will be okay. It hurts now, but there will be much rejoicing later. I’ve got you. I’m your Father, your Daddy, and I will never let you go. I love you so much with all my heart. I’ll never let you go.”

A father is someone that you can go to when you are struggling. Especially for daughters, a father is a safe-haven for them. They go to their father after that break up. They go to him when they don’t know their worth and ask him to speak truth to them. Their Dad is safety, protection and love. A daughter can go to him with anything, and he will always be there for her. She is his little girl. God our Father is the same way.

I would like to paint a picture for you...

Close your eyes and picture you are in the same room with God, your Father. You had a bad day. Everything went wrong and you are so hurt. Your face is still stained with tears and you don’t know what to do. God opens up His arms to you and you run into them. He picks you up and he puts you on His lap, just like you were a little girl again. He just holds you in His arms and hugs you. You sit with Him and lay your head on His chest and He just keeps His arms around you. You feel safe in His embrace.

He just sits with you till you stop crying. He kisses you and He looks at you and says, “I love you darling, so much!” He wipes away your tears. You are consoled and at peace.

This is one of my favorite things to think about. Just sitting in the arms of my Father in Heaven and just letting Him hold me while I rest my head on His chest. It makes me smile and feel happy and at peace to think about it.

So, to close, I would like to leave you with this: God’s got you!

I know that every time I miss my grandmothers, every time I cry about it, God is right there, holding me in my pain while I cry. He’s holding me through this painful time and He will never let go!

Let God hold you too! He wants to. He is holding His arms out and saying, “I’m right here for you; I’ll never leave your side.” He is always telling us that He loves us. Every time you take a breath, that is God saying, “I love you!”

Go run into the arms of the most loving and comforting Father that you will ever know and give Him all your struggles. Let Him hold you and kiss you and love you. Let Him dry your tears. You will leave far better than how you came.
