All the way from New York to Alabama! From Alabama all the way to Louisiana! From Louisiana to Texas! From Texas to Florida, all the way from Florida to North Carolina!
The Holy Spirit is moving! Justin Fatica and the Hard as Nails Missionaries are changing lives all over this great Nation!

It’s been a few years since we were able to go to the great state of Louisiana, but we came back and encountered much suffering. However, the Holy Spirit used us to do what it does best… bring hope! One missionary wrote:

“This had to be one of my favorite events that I ever went to. Honestly, it was because of this one girl. During the event, when kids were being hugged and shared, she got up, walked over to Justin, and whispered something in his ear. He had her stand up there and we all had a chance to hug her. I was the last one, so, I pulled her off to the side to talk and pray with her. As soon as we sat down, she started sharing all the pain and suffering in her life. There was a lot that she shared, but never once did the light in her eyes go away. Immediately, there was hope and she talked to me about how scripture had gotten her through struggles. She told me that her favorite bible verse is Philippians 4:13, which is the verse in my testimony. We talked a bit more and then I got to pray with her. As soon as I opened my eyes, she had a huge smile on her face. She told me that she felt something in that prayer, but she couldn’t pinpoint what it was. God really showed me that He can work through our prayers, especially in the midst of doubt. She gave me a lot of hope that day because it just radiated off of her. God is good!”

We are about suffering here at Hard as Nails. We strive to make a world where no one suffers alone! Someone we greatly admire in our ministry is our Lady. She suffered greatly yet is unparalleled as an intercessor in the Church! One missionary truly relied on grace from our Lady at an event and look what happened:

“...We set everything up and had about 45 minutes to kill so another missionary and I went to go lay in the sun.  After like a minute, we decided to go do something productive so we went to see if we could help out with a game the attendees were playing.  The guy in charge ended up talking for too long and we had to go back inside before the actual game started but during that time, I made eye contact with one guy, and something told my heart I needed to talk to him.  When the event started, he was surrounded by his friends, and I had no idea how or why I needed to talk to him.  Unsure of what to do I started praying Hail Mary's while the event continued.  Then Justin invited people to come up and share how their class had helped them through different challenges in their life.  Towards the end, this kid I made eye contact with got up and shared how his mom had died last July.  He said his class helped to pull him through this tough time without even knowing it.  After everyone hugged him, I went up and prayed with him.  We prayed for his mom and her soul and in thanksgiving for life, and in the end, both of us were crying.  I asked for his number after and got it.  Later that day I got a text from him saying how grateful he was for us coming to his school and how much it helped him.  I've never had anyone text me first after an event, and rarely do people seem excited to get a call on the phone.  This guy did both. I truly believe The Blessed Mother is completely responsible for all of this happening…”

This is something we can all do in our daily lives! Simply asking Mary to create a moment of grace for us, our Lady will always come through. This missionary did just that and look at the amazing fruit that came from it!

One of our pillars here at Hard as Nails is sensitivity to sin and suffering. We strive to look people in the eyes and touch hearts by being present to them in this way at one event a missionary shared:

“During this retreat, Justin let the kids share their stories. While everyone was hugging this one guy for sharing, there was this girl who was sitting alone. I went up to her and asked if I could sit with her and just made eye contact for her for 5 seconds and she broke down crying. I had the opportunity to pray with her and she had shared her heart with me and told me her dad passed away when she was 6. She had a deep sense of relief after as she was crying."

People are suffering out there, and even looking someone in the eyes for 5 seconds can change the whole course of their day and impart great healing in their life. The missionaries strive to carry the cross of others and help them to suffer well. Even if we can only ease their burden for a moment, it is all worth it. Let's all strive to impact the lives of others! You might be asking who? But it's not a question of who is suffering so much as what they have been through. Every single person we encounter has a story. Let us not forget our purpose throughout the day, you never know when you might be able to change a life!
